This blog post is part 2 to my first one about uniqueness. In what makes you unique. We all have natural gifts that make us different. If who are reading this and thinking I don't have a natural gift. You already know what I'm about to say. You do. That hobby that you love, the sports you love, your wonderful and beautiful personality. That is unique. The one thing you hate about yourself could be one of the most amazing parts of you. Use that uniqueness to boost self-esteem. We live in a society where we hide what's unique about us and leave it in the shadows. Some of us including me are afraid of what others are going to think about us if we show our true selves. In seventh grade, I moved schools and did not take it well. I was always afraid of what others were thinking of me. I closed myself off from everyone. I was very depressed and it went through all of the seventh grade. It was in eighth grade when I realized that this needed to stop. I decided to volunteer to sing in my school's middle school play. I did it and forgot the words in the first showings of the play, but on the last showing, I got the song all the way through. That night, I talked to more to people, I sang more, and I was happier with myself. I'm not saying that you won't have challenges cause I still do. What I'm telling you is to embrace and own up to your amazing gift even if you are a little scared. Just remember that you're doing what you love and that's what matters most.
